Angel Member need help!!!

Today I got a mail from Yvonne in Belgium...with the beginning...
"My Angels - A (little) disaster)"

My mind started to to think all kind of horrible things that could have happened to this quilt...
I know that she has worked really hard to quilt this for a show and pheeewww...

...so this is what Yvonne wants to alert you all to!!
She writes....

"Hi Stina,

I have a very sad story about my Angels Story quilt.
I want to tell you about it, so you and the other ladies working on their Angels don't make the same mistakes I did.

Last sunday, my quilt was totally finished, and I put him (or her?) in the washing machine (quilt for protection in a bedcover, cold water, short time, gentle swing ....)
I was almost in shock when I took him out again.

In Anni Downs' book is written how Anni quilted her Angels. She has no quiltstitches at all in de Angelblocks.
I was worried and I placed "a detached fly" here and there in my blocks.

You can see in the pictures attached that these "flies" were not enough ....
You can find more pics before and after in my blog.

What did I do wrong?
The background fabric in the angel blocks was washed before using it. The other fabrics were not.
I used a 100 % cotton batting. I know it shrinks but I don't mind an "antique look".

So my quilt is finished in time for the exhibition, but I decided he will not hang there. I'm totally not pleased with the look. I will take out al the "flies" and I'll try to quilt al the angelblocks. I hope this helps!"

So you know this lady is pretty sad... :(
this is a picture before...
...and so is this one...

She washed the backgroud fabric because it was dirty and never thought of it nomore...
and what happends...all the other pieces shrink and not the background...
so the backgrounds are too big...
...the fly stitches...
...and one after wash block... :(
...and another one...

And here is the lovely quilt in all is glory!!
It sure is wonderful no matter what!!

...So this is a lady who needs help...

All I could think of is to quilt more in the Angelblocks...

And I so hope that someone out in blogland have some suggestions how to rescue this lovely quilt!!!

Please make a comment with anything that could help...

BTW...
I see that I have been blogging one year today... :)
And what a YEAR... :)
Found SOOOO many new friends around the globe...never in my life I thought I would sit in the north of Sweden and talk to all you wonderful and talented girls..yes ...no guys around yet...:)

Will come back with this and celebrate it at another time...
will soon have 200 posts as well...and think I will double up the party then...;)

Open House on Saturday went alright with a lot of help from family and friends...

It was a lot of happy moments for Lars with unexpected friends coming...
and of course familymembers...
Some couldn´t come...my parents and brothers couldn´t...
the farm...too far away...and other commitments...
I think we were at most about 35 people plus kids ... :)
first guests arrived at 11 am...with the cake!!!!
Thankyou so much for making this one Guy!!!
Isn´t it lovely!! :)
And I can assure you all...it tasted heavenly...Mmmmm...
...and after that they all started to come...one by one...

we had guests until...was it 7 or 8 pm...dont really remember... :)
A lot of fun and lovely presents from all...
And thankyou all for coming and making Lars day so special!!

After they all had gone...
Lars said: - I never thought I had so many friends... :)
Of course you have I said... they love you all...

On Sunday...we didn´t do a thing... :)
rested...

And now...Christmas is coming...so better tidy up again..find the presents I have started on...and perhaps finish them and hopefully get some finishes BEFORE christmas... ;)

And today..it is a lousy weatherday... SNOWSTORM...
wind is howling and snow is whirling around outside...
so I think I keep myself occupied indoors... ;)

What else have happened... since nothing happends in the sewingroom...except for the secret things for DH... that will be revealed on Saturday at Open House... And this is no quilty things at all... kind of sewing...but not... ;)

PIF arrived in Tasmania...

A couple of days ago I got mail from Jo in Tas that my PIF gift arrived at her home...

It is always a relief when you know that something you have sent has arrived...
..and this was no exception...

Had so much fun stitching and sewing on this quilt...wanted it to be a spring quilt...and sitting here in Sweden with autumnleaves tumbling down while I stitched that was a pleasure... knowing it would be spring where it was going to "live"...
And I love spring...!!! :)
And it was fun making all three quilts in different seasons...
Colleens Pif was a Autumnquilt and Lauras something in between...and finally I got Jo´s in the mail...
...it´s done from a stitchery pattern made by Kim Shellington... and I just love the saying!!!
...this PIF round was so fun to be a part of and I enjoyed it very much...
So for my "new" ladies that have joined my latest PIF... I hope I will have just as much fun making you something... but I promise you...it wont be anything this year... :)

And thanks Jo for sending me the pictures...I had such a hurry mailing it ...so I forgot to take some pictures... :$
Nothing much is going to be sewn next week or have been sewn at my place these last days...have a lot of secrets going on... DH is turning 50...so it is a lot of preparations going on...but schh...
he dont want anyone to know that he has a BIG birthday coming up!!!! :)

Winter wonderland...

Late last night it began to snow...and when Viktor woke up he was sooo HAPPY... :)

All white and COLD...
-7 C ( 19F) today and I´m not ready for this...
Guess this will melt away and more will come...or not...maybe we will have a cold and early winter this year.....
One thing is good though... it is light and fresh ... not black and rainy and dirty...
...and my turtle week keep on going...not much more speed here...
In a crazy moment I started out a new little cross stitch...a little sampler...
..I know I´m not finished with the first... I just had to try out how tiny I can sew with my new glasses... ;)
So this is 25 count linen and sewed over 1 thread...it is sooo cute...but TINY!!! :)
And I can see it...so I guess my new glasses is rather good... except for a little problem I had yesterday...
Hmmm...
They have the little peculiarity that they will go down on the nose and I dont like that...so yesterday they were going to shorten the frame...
And what happends...???
They broke them!!!
So now I have another pair... in another colour (black and purple instead of black and green)...
And I might need to get another pair because they can´t fix the little peculiarity at the glasses!!
Or maybe its my my nose that needs some fixing...lol...
So I´m back on zero with my glasses!!
Hope not...

Some time ago I had the great luck to win a 100th post giveaway from a wonderful person...
she writes the most wonderful posts...always with a big smile... :)
A week ago I got the email I have been waiting for...
...Stina...start stalking your mailman!!!....
Never belived the mail would come so quick... almost forgot to stalk my mailman...and today my lovely mailman...think I even said he was beautiful ( oh not to him... ;) ) when I emailed that I had received my package... :)
...and this is what I first saw...
...does anyone recognize the bear... can you guess who the package is from...
Btw...love the yarn she wrapped the package with...this must be perfect for a little Annie Doll later...
Have anyone guessed... ???

Ok ..ok... it is from Kris at Tag Along Teddies... ;)
so I wrapped up the package... exciting isn´t it...
the first I saw was this lovely cup cake...look at the tiny stitches...can´t barely see them...beautiful workmanship... :)
...oh my goodness a lovely cup cake bag... and a card with one of her lovely bears...
...but there was more...
the bag must have been huge on the inside...don´t know how everything got in there...

...lovely buttons...pink pencils... ;) and some lovely fabrics...
...in lovely colours and with beautiful flowers on... just perfect...
and there was even more!!!! :)
...a pattern plus kit for a wonderful little Christmas stocking ... that she made herself...
(Oh my goodness we have some talented ladies out here in the world!!)
And everything I need on the go to make this little stocking...and
with some Fancy pins...oh they will be perfect...cause I seem to have lost all my pins... dont know where they have gone...

THANKYOU so much Kris... :L
...for this I am very happy and touched by your generosity ...

A happy day for me... :)
