Rain and Cinnamom...

Rain....Rain...and Rain...
and you know what we do to keep us warm.... BAKE!!! :0)
Not completly true...but nice...

So today I baked Cinnamon buns ( Swedish)
150 g butter
5 dl milk
50 g fresh yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1- 1 1/2 dl sugar
14 dl wheat flour
...warm the milk to lukewarm...melt the butter in that...
Crumble the yeast into a bowl...add buttermilk and stir until the yeast is dissolved...
Add the rest of the sugar, salt and flour . Work into a smooth and silky dough...
Rest for 30 minutes
...make the filling...softened butter 150 g, vanilla-flavoured sugar and caster sugar (icing sugar?) mix this soft! (add sugar until it tastes Mmmmmm... ;) )
...Make the buns...Divide the dough into two. Roll out each part to a large rectangle. Spread with buttermix and sprinkle over cinnamom! Roll each rectangle into a tight roll, starting at the long edge, and cut each roll into about 20 pieces. Place each piece in a paper cup on a baking sheet (covered with parchment paper so you won't end up with a mess) Hmmm...I didn´t do this... :) , cover and leave to proof for 30 minutes.

Beat an egg with 1/2 tsp of water, and brush this carefully on the buns. Finish by a light sprinkling of pearl sugar.
Bake at 225°C for 8 minutes, until they're as golden as you like them.
And enjoy with a nice cup of tea!!!
Have a really good day... :)

You and I have very similar taste in quilting (think it is the pieces thing? LOL)- I just love the quilts I can see here - especially the angels. Also the book mark is so cute.
