Christmas Pincushion tutorial...the last one..:O)

 Finally..
here it comes the last instructions for the pincushion...:o)

Cut a 1 3/4" x about 23" strip

*Sew this strip to the side of the pincushion...
(havent figured out the length of the stip... time..flies...:O)
But I did like this...
I started a little bit in on the strip ..sewed almost until the end...
pinned the ends together...
*then I sewed the ends together...
*Split the seam and continue to
 sew the opening shut...
Now it should look like a little hat..:O)

Inside...

Outside...

*Use Template C to cut out a bottom
( you can use a a fusible interface here if you want a sturdy bottom)

*Pin the bottom evenly around the pincushion..
start with four pins and add more...

*Use the rest of the ric rac...
lay it between the layers...
start a little bit in on the ric rac...

You can see on the picture that the top of the ric rac is just
touching the outer edge of the side of the pincushion...

*Tuck the ric rac in while sewing....and
keep on sewing like this until the end...
tuck the ends in and continue sewing  the opening shut.

*Make an innerbag in some scrap fabric...
( wont show)
(use template C ... make it a seam allowance smaller)

*Fill the innerbag with some filling..
(walnut shells...rice or something with weight)

*Sew the opening shut on the machine...
dont bother to turn ...raw ends out..;O)

Turn the pincushion inside out...
tuck the innerbag inside..
and start filling the pincushion with polyester fill..
nice and firm..!!!!

And sew the opening shut by hand..
Nicer that way!!!

And voila.. FINISHED!!!!
There you have a new pincushion just in time for Christmas!!!:O))

Close up ..again..:O)

From the side...

And a picture of the finished one!!!

With this I want wish you all
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS...

And please if you make the pincushion...
do send me a picture so I can see what you made..
Im so curious!!! :O)))

Some presents I made...

to wonderful friends ...
One week before I went to Norway I sent this little package to
May Britt for her 50 th birthday!!!
Happy birthday again!!!!
I know she likes cats...
so I just had to make this little cute needle keeper...
with little pockets for threads and other things...
I also sent her one of my Grandmothers thimbles for her collection...

...and I added a cat pincushion to her collection as well...
and a little brooch...
just to feel special..:o)
Have you by the way seen the quilt she got...
Just wonderful...

And in time for my trip to Östersund...
I finished a little birthday ( late one..) gift

for Louise...
It was really fun to make...
hardest was to find a cup that would fit..:o)
So now I am on a bargain hunt for more cups.. so I can make some more!!!
Happy BELATED Birthday
Louise!!!

Otherwise..
Im at home...
walking slowly.. not bending so much...
LUMBAGO...
guess I will be home for some days to recover...
Im packing up slowly from the Norway trip....
...it is way way far down to the bags at the floor!!
But... I have found some pretties.. at least I think so!!
Think I forgot to look at colours..lol..
all very light..;o)

Weighted pincushion...

Ahhh...spring is definetly coming closer...and closer..
cant really call it spring here.. snow is still falling and nothing is melting...
ok...just a little but it doesn´t show...

Bought some grape hyacinths...
...just love to follow them day by day...
aint these colours just lovely...

And belive it or not May Britt and Kris..I have another finish....
Saw this pattern some time ago and felt..this is something for me..
a weighted pincushion...with removable tidy bin...super clever
You can have it beside the sewingmachine...take it with you to the sofa and to class...
and this pattern comes from this talented lady
Oh..my I´m getting closer in my organizing ..don´t you think...
And I must say I love this one...
Ok I did some mistakes and did some changes...but it´s an easy pattern to follow...
Oh...dont look so close... Yes I have an orange thread cutter... gosh it is ugly...but work well..
I filled mine with crushed walnuts and just a little lavender...
so I enjoy every time I put a pin into it...
Sweet bliss...
btw...Kris ..do you see your ( mine now...) buttons...

Nine days....

...and no blogging what so ever...
How could that have happened!!

First of all I want to thank everone that have made a comment and cheered me on and given me some hope to sew again... :)
Thankyou all.... :L
It means a lot!!!

Worktraining take all my energy and the sewing I´m doing there is the sewing Im doing... sort of... :)
Actually a little bit of time here and there...something gets sewn anyway...

I have started to quilt on the Stretched Stars that Kathie so helpfully gave me fabrics to...
and I added little stitcheries and will add buttons to the quilt later...
I just love this little quilt... :)
And what have happened to all the little snippets that were leftovers form the corners ...
Finally I can show you what it became...
a little pincushion or just a little pillow....

The half sq triangles was just 1 1/4" before they were sewn together...
this was so fun to challenge yourself to make up something from the little pieces...
thought it needed a little something so I added a little rose made of lace...

I really love the look of this one!...and there were still fabric pieces left ...so I pieced a backside too...
So thankyou Kathie for sending me the little kit!!!

Hope I can mobilize my strength and get started with sewing and blogging again... :)
Please take care of each other... promise!!!
