Another little mini quilt....

have seen the light..:O))

Worked with my oranges...
which was FUN... :o)
But I worked Toooo fast for my own good...
having Dad ill right in the middle of this quilts birth...
 and a deadline to keep..
so I delivered this quilt to my friend Åsa who had her birthday last Sunday ...
Unfinished... or kind of.. :o)

Even the photos came out blurry so You have to live with that
.. or just scroll pass them..lol..

The pattern is a Cheri Saffiote Payne pattern (Again) :O)
from the magazine Primitive Quilts....

I used velvet to the pumpkin
  manchester to the flower centers...
added a Happy Birthday text instead of the original text
 and here comes the OOOPPPSS!!!!

Forgot to add the berries!!!!
Stupid me...
And all the time while sewing the binding on.. I talked to myself... remember the buttons.. remember the buttons!!!!
Did that help!!
NAH!!! :O)
So when Åsa packed up her gift I didnt see it( nor she)  either.. but after a while when sitting there drinking tea...
I saw IT!!!!! BLUSH!!
Happily we could laugh at it.. and she promised to sew on some pretty red buttons...
PHEWWW!! :O)

(Note to self:
DONT RUSH!!)

So here it is.. a little quilt without it´s berries!! :O))
See you all soon...
I hope..
Christmas is coming.. and this year I
MUST try to have gifts ready before Christmas!!!!
:O)

An orange fix....

never thought I´d start to love orange...
but I have had some orange days over here...
maybe it´s the Autumn... ;o)

So I have started a new little project...
orange strips  and neutrals....
and some flowers...

otherwise days are back to some sort of normal here
...dad gave us a real scare and have been at hospital for chest and leg pain..
he is back home but...BUT...

cant say that Im relieved... :o/
still something wrong...

Will have to keep an extra eye on him...

Days are getting shorter and shorter here.. dark evenings...
and a black dog ain´t that easy to keep an eye on...

guess it will be easier once the snow is here .. yuck...

That was a little from me...
must say I´d rather would have been with Leanne Beasley in Vietnam and "Imagine"...:O)

A Time To Sew...

First ...
A special thankyou to all of you who sent well wishes to Viktor....
He waves back a Thankyou.. and tells you he is Ok..:O)

Happily finished with my little quilt and my two surprises...

"A time to sew"

Pattern by Cheri Saffiote Payne...
but I used two different patterns...
I changed the center motif to a more sewing related one...

Close up of the stitchery...
The backside
The center....
And the finished little quilt....
I so liked the orange little flowers...
so the binding had to be orange and yellow!! :o)
And the green little packages were sent to my sewing buddies...
one surprise for Louise...

A blue version...
And one for Marica...
in brown, pink, green and black....
( so Louise.. you see.. I have used BLACK..;O)
They were all soooo fun to sew...
I had a really good sewing time..:O)

Hope to be in my sewing room for more adventures...
 so see you soon!!

 Love xoxo

Promised you a picture of a quilt I made for Louise....
Changed plans for my Christmas gift for her.. saves it for next year.. and decided to make her a little quilt instead...
Louise made this quilt for both me and Marica at Christmas...

The last walls...

in the yellow room...
from my exhibition in Skellefteå this summer....

This is a quilt made from one of the most fun challenges I have  had...
The Shirt project!!!
We had read about some ladies doing this In Australia some years ago..
could they so could we..:o))

We collected ten shirts each... and since we were five ( Marica, Cici, Kristina, Lotta and me)  it became 50 shirts!!!
We divided these equal among us...
and decided on the rules...
All 50 shirts had to be used in the quilt we made...
Just one fabric could be added...

And this is what I made...
( Oh you should see the other girls too.. they are wonderful)

"Fem Flickor ( Five Girls)"

Pattern by Cheri Saffiote Payne
And the quilt in the basket.. is a quilt I started with the leftovers from the shirts.. both on the back and front...
still not finished.. but will some day..:o))
And believe me.. I still have LOTS of scraps from those shirts...

(And you from Norway and Sweden might remember this since we have been in the local quilt magazines showing all the quilts..)

One time while visiting Louise in Östersund we started to sew one doll each..
and this is my version...

"Sarah Louise"
Sooo much fun we had that weekend!! :o)

And this quilt is another oldie....

Also a project shared with friends...
Louise in Östersund and Eugenie in Norway
We decided to sew stars to each other..
I sewed mine ( in my colors) and sent to Louise who sewed for me and sent to Eugenie...
who sewed for me and finally one day A large envelope was in my mailbox...
and then it was up to me to sew them together...

And of course I sewed stars for both Louise and Eugenie...
and they do have their quilts finished too..
Louise an America inspired quilt.. and Eugenies in pastels... :o)
This is how mine became

"My Stars"

And this is a quilt I gave my Brother and his wife Anna on their wedding day
Thanks for letting me borrow it ...:o)))

"The wedding quilt"

And during the show I exchanged the quilts a little so I hung my
Everyday Angels in the same corners as my brothers quilt...

"Everyday Angels"

pattern by the Chookshed ( I think..:o)

And this is a quilt I made for my Mother...
she do always think we are too far away... so I decided to change that..
So I collected the handprints from my brothers families and from mine...

and made this quilt with just Kaffe Fasset fabrics...

"Mothers quilt"

So now she can have us all around her..:o))

The quilt below is the the oldest quilt I had in the show... a quilt that I made for my dads 60th birthday....ohh.. look at those fabrics.. :o))  talking about memory lanes... sweet memories.. and so is this quilt for dad too...

Some Pictures from his life transferred on fabric..
My christening... Dad just as a little boy...  Newborn sibling...
Mom and dad taking a rest in the haymaking... Early days working in the woods...
Castle Rushen at the Isle of Man... where Our relatives lived during the viking ages...
The beard he had when he came home from France.. and still have..lol..
early days  working with floating timber....

"My Fathers Quilt"

It doesnt show so much but I quilted a message for him on the quilt with runics all around the quilt... and well he says he have read it..:o))) Im not sure.... :o)

And finally  a quilt Viktor and I worked on together when he was about 5-6 years old...

He picked the fabrics... and wow he was so sure where to put them...
maybe he will be a quilter ..:o)))

Oh so much fun we had building all the trucks and cars...
Pattern from an Australian designer... think it was called Adams Garage...

"Viktors Garage"

And I totally forgot to take photos of the quilts that was in the basket..
but maybe someday... I will show them...
hmm.. because the one in blues and greens... are needing some help to be fixed!!
It is so worn!!! :o)

Well I hope you have enjoyed all the quilts....
Have some pictures left from what I had for sale at the show...  and then it will be all back to normal again here in Kviltstina Land..:o)))

See you!!
have to get back working on my Schnibble!!!

Rural Jardin fabrics this time... :o)

ok.. first corner... I hung three little quilts made from a pattern made by
Cheri Saffiote Payne

"Faith, Hope and Love"

These three quilts is some of my very favorite quilts...
they just are..:o)
Always makes me smile when I hang them...

"Bless Your Heart 2"

Next to these...
I hung another quilt made from a pattern by Leanne Beasley

 Another favorite...
And everything written is so true!!
Thanks Leanne for designing  such wonderful quilts for us!!

In a basket on the floor I had my  quilt made in browns, creme and pink...
Pattern from a Swedish Designer Tyger & Ting

"Old Love"

Of course I had to have my little Punch Needle pictures at the show that I made for my Mom and Dad... for their 70th birthdays....

"Needle Punch Pictures"

Pictures drawn by my son Viktor and punch needled by me..
another fun mother and son project...  :o)

And my first quilt made out of a Leanne Beasley pattern...

"Leanne´s House"

This quilt gave me such joy to make and it was with a lot of hesitation I had it out for sale... but I am so happy to have it sold to a wonderful woman in Scotland...
Hope she will find it as pretty in her home or at her granddaughters...
Just need to fix the label for her..;O))
(Note to me.. DO IT!! )

It is just.. that I need to make myself a new one!!!  :o))
Right..:o)))

Well that will have to be all from me tonight.
am a little bit tired.. no not a bit... VERY...

we were going to have to build an ark... dont know how much rain that came in the storm last night.. but it was a LOT!!!
And the thunder... gosh.. I couldnt sleep a wink!!

Gather Love... and decisions...

Finally I have finished something... :)
my little wallhanging made from a pattern of Cheri Saffiote Payne called "Gather Love"... made mine with prim stitches and some cross stitch... yellow, pink, green and brown fabrics ... it´s not big...but it´s finished!!!
And I did another one too...cause somebody have had her birthday...and Stina was very late in mailing it to her...:$ finally mailed her a pink little pressie...
She got it yesterday ( better late than never) ...mailed it in the afternoon and at luchtime the day after it arrived to
LOUISE... my poolparty friend!!
...made hers in brighter colours... it looked a little bit lost at my place with its brightness...but Louise phoned me and said that the colours worked at her place...pheeww... :)
Happy belated birthday my dear friend!!

Today I have been at the optician and (YES mom and dad...I have been there!!!) and tested out new ones... yepp... I can no longer sit and look over or under my glasses... first of all...it looks pretty stupid...for those who don´t know me... the others know what I´m up too ... Lol... and the bad part is that it gives me headache...
Ok..have come down to four different ones...pheew...think I will have to sleep on the decision...
It´s not easy when you are blind as a...??? lost the word...
Anyway...
Hope you all are having a great time out in the big big world!!
